PAPURAU WILLIAM JONES A’I FAB, PWLLHELI
PAPERS OF WILLIAM JONES AND SON, PWLLHELI

The papers demonstrate the business and social activities and concerns of three generations of a leading family in the Pwllheli area.
The records provide much information on the community of Pwllheli, and the operations of a business in a Welsh town during the nineteenth century. The Timber Yard was started c.1837 by William Jones an entrepreneur of considerable abilities, and later managed by his son, Griffith and grandson John G. Jones, J.P.. A high proportion of the papers issue from Griffith and John G. Jones. For more information on William Jones in the social context of Pwllheli consult

In accord with normal archival practice in Wales, details of documents are presented in the language of the document. Where details appear in Welsh, then Welsh is the language in which the document is written; where they are in English, the document is in English.
